Seal life is fascinating and it is through underwater photography that we have come to know it. Underwater photography gives us a glimpse of a world we might never see otherwise. All the beautiful fish and other sea creatures that we all have now seen are something many people would never have seen if not for underwater photography.

Underwater photography has its own set of challenges. If you are going to do underwater photography, you will need some special equipment. You cannot just dive in to the water and start doing underwater photography. Most underwater photography is done while scuba diving, although you can also do some great underwater photography while snorkeling. It is while at scuba diving depths that you will encounter the beautiful and uncommon and therefore want to do some underwater photography. so in order to do any serious underwater photography, you will need to learn to scuba dive. You must get instruction from a certified instructor in order to do it safely. Then you can either buy your own scuba equipment or rent it so you can do some underwater photography.

Usually for a hundred dollars or so, you can go scuba diving for a a two tank dive, (a couple of hours) and do some underwater photography. The scuba shop will take you out in a boat to a good dive spot and then a dive master will take you down under the sea to do your your underwater photography. Beyond the basic scuba gear that you will need, you will also need a camera suitable for underwater photography. You can rent the whole rig or use your own camera. But if order to do underwater photography, you will need a waterproof housing for you camera/

These can be expensive to buy, but if you are going to do a lot of underwater photography, the investment might be worth it rather than renting the housing every time you dive in order to do underwater photography. Doing you own underwater photography might seem like a pretty big task to some folks, but the sense of satisfaction you can get from doing your own underwater photography is great and the beautiful pictures you get can be treasured for a lifetime.

But, underwater photography might not be fore everybody. If you like looking at nderwater photography, then there are ways you can look at underwater photography without having to go scuba diving yourself. There are many websites on the internet that offer free viewing of underwater photography. Some of this underwater photography is truly spectacular. And remember, you can also do your own underwater photography in shallow water with just some snorkeling equipment. This approach to underwater photography is much less expensive and less involved than the deep water underwater photography.
